SHARING MY ONLINE ACADEMIC JOURNEY

Are you ready to party? Well, I am too; however, that’s not what we’re doing here.

It’s (academic) party time!

I do want to extend an invitation to you. You’re invited on my academic journey (even more now because I previously mentioned that I’d keep you posted on how things are going). This means that you may see posts from time to time that appear to be off-topic from my regular content. Don’t be alarmed. It’s all a part of the plan. I will still also post about my writing journey. Author life has not stopped. I write. I teach. I mom. I learn. I show you it’s going being an online student juggling many obligations. School is about to start for my kids, so that will be a new piece to this term that I didn’t have to worry about before. I’ll have to balance my academics with theirs. Am I nervous? Absolutely! Still, my life isn’t a lot different from the many students who embark upon their own academic journeys (in-person or online).

TAKING AN ONLINE CLASS

I’m currently taking my second class at SNHU. We are in our second out of ten weeks. My intention is to share some of the work that I do for the course.  Why? We’re going to be sharing some of our assignments online, as this class is a social media marketing course. It’s in the syllabus. (See. It’s always important to read those.) Rather than create all new profiles, I thought it might be a fun (fun may be a stretch of the word) experience.

MY ACADEMIC GROWTH

I’ve worked in online education for nearly 15 years. I’ve seen it shift, grow, and everything in between. Still, I am aware that some are still skeptical about the quality of the education distance learning can provide.  Because I am in the unique perspective of having experience as an online instructor and now student, I can give an honest assessment from both sides. Also, I am all about reflection. So, why not?

Let’s do this!
